Russia’s land forces are planning to participate in ten joint international exercises this year.
Four of these exercises will be held inside the Russian Federation, and six will be held with Russia’s international partners.
According to Russia’s Ministry of Defence (MoD), the exercises to be held within the Russian Federation will comprise of bilateral exercises with India (Indra 2022), Mongolia (Selenga 2022), Egypt (Arrow of Friendship 2022) and a Russian-Vietnamese military exercise.
The joint exercises to take place outside Russia will be held with Algeria, Sri Lanka, Laos and Pakistan. This will be followed with the ‘Rubezh 2022’ joint exercise to be held with units of the Collective Rapid Deployment Force of the Central Asian Collective Security Region and exercise ‘Unbreakable Brotherhood 2022’ with Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) peacekeeping forces.
According to the Russian MoD, all the exercises are planned with a peacekeeping and anti-terrorist orientation.
