ECA-A320-training-iPad

Japanese carrier All Nippon Airways (ANA) is to deploy ECA Group's Airbus A320 Flight Management System Trainer (FMST) on mobile platforms for its pilots.

ECA Group's A320 FMST is a simulation which runs on tablets, laptops, desktop PCs or coupled with hardware replicas. Pilots can be trained in procedures specifically relevant to them using ECA Group’s navigation database converter.

An instructor working for the airline commented, “ANA is using ECA Group’s A320 Free-Play FMS Trainer on iPad as a training aid for the pilot ground training phase. We lend the trainees an iPad, which enables them to use the FMS Trainer for course preparation and revision anywhere, anytime and with anybody.

“We got excellent feedback from our trainees: they truly appreciate this useful and efficient means of training. The FMST is very cost-efficient and allows downloading of ANA’s own Navigation Database, which grants us the possibility to increase understanding and FMS’ operations.”

The initial relationship between ANA and ECA Group began in 1996 with the delivery of an A320 3D FMS Trainer. The selection of the latest tablet version of the A320 FMST was made during the visit of the airline on ECA Group’s booth at Halldale’s World Aviation Training Symposium (WATS) event, held in Orlando, USA.
