Air France is reopening its cadet pilot program after an eight-year hiatus to be to recruit 250 pilots per year to fill its own pilot positions, as well as for its Joon and Transavia Airlines – and formed a partnership with the École Nationale de l'Aviation Civile (ENAC) (French Civil Aviation School) to handle the training.
The first trainee pilots started at ENAC this summer in an eight-month theoretical training course at the Toulouse campus. The cadets will continue for one year of practical flight training at the Montpellier, Carcassonne, Grenoble and St-Yan campuses before joining the Air France group as pilots on Airbus A320 or Boeing 737.
The ENAC, the French Civil Aviation Authority’s pilot training school under the supervision of the Ministry of Ecological and Solidarity Transition, provides training and research activities in aeronautical engineering, air navigation and pilot instruction. Every year, ENAC welcomes over 2,000 students in more than 30 training program and 3,500 trainees on continuous training courses.
