SIM-TECH Manufacturing has been awarded a contract from Southwest Airlines to build several new B737NG door and overwing exit trainers and to update many others.

SIM-TECH spokesman Josh Conrey stated that Southwest Airlines is one of the Premier airlines in the United States, and we are excited to have been chosen to be part of their team in this procurement.

The new trainers will feature door and OWE handle jam, slide fail sounds, out the window LED lighting (simulating fire or water) indications, a functional PA system, overhead bins, flight attendant jumpseats, and several rows of passenger seats.

In addition, a Panasonic touchscreen instructor's console has been added to control all trainer functions and scenarios, including the fully automatic electronic open and close overwing exit, which is a state-of-the-art operation.
