The DiSTI Corporation is pleased to announce that they have been selected by HAVELSAN to develop glass cockpits for Turkish Airlines’ latest flight simulators. Under the agreement, DiSTI Professional Services will leverage GL Studio to develop high-fidelity instrumentation clusters for the Airbus A320 aircraft and 737 MAX cockpits for HAVELSAN to integrate into flight simulator cockpits.
According to HAVELSAN Project Director, Ismail Selimoglu: “Turkish Airlines has awarded HAVELSAN a major program to produce flight simulators for A320 and 737 MAX aircraft and have an aggressive delivery schedule. We evaluated a number of HMI solutions on the market and determined that GL Studio is the best HMI application for our program. Furthermore, the DiSTI Professional Services team has the best experience in rapid development of glass cockpits and could meet our aggressive timelines.”
“HAVELSAN is a leading aerospance defense systems integrator in Eastern Europe and the Middle East and (has) been a customer of ours for many years. We are pleased that HAVELSAN has selected GL Studio and DiSTI Professional Services for this important program. There is significant growth in demand for deploying cost effective simulation systems by airlines around the world. In addition, DiSTI has a library of ready-made cockpits for aircraft that can be purchased to further accelerate development time and bring solutions to market faster and at a lower cost,” said John Cunningham, Chief Revenue Officer, DiSTI.
GL Studio’s upcoming release, version 6.3 announced at I/ITSEC 2018, will continue to demonstrate it as a high-fidelity HMI tool, enabling rapid and low-cost development of visual systems for integrators such as HAVELSAN to deliver cost-competitive solutions for their customers. GL Studio 6.3 will include ESRI Shapefiles support, UTM-encoded Shapefiles support, UTM projection for Shapefiles, custom render callback support, CADRG Maps support for custom map layers, and Tile Data Memory Utilization enhancements. These features will speed up customer’s development processes while adding additional functionality for graphical and immersive content on their displays.
