SECA-Returns-to-WATS-2019-e1544042674714

After the overwhelming success of the Student Education and Careers in Aviation (SECA) at the 2018 World Aviation Training Summit (WATS) in Orlando, Florida, SECA will be returning as part of WATS 2019 on May 2 at the Rosen Shingle Creek Resort in Orlando, Florida.

Over 170 Florida students from Orlando, Kissimmee, Sanford, Jacksonville and Lakeland took part in the 2018 SECA conference and were briefed on the vast opportunities available for careers in the airline sector by representatives of ICAO, Women in Aviation International and GoJet Airlines before experiencing flight, maintenance and cabin crew training devices in the WATS Exhibition hall.

Students and their teaching staff enjoyed a full and exciting day with tremendous value reported. Some students, who were already in aviation intensive programs, were able to ask about the next steps they need to take on their route to a career in aviation. Students who were already in a flight academy were able to mix with airline representatives and training providers where they made links to aid them as they move forward in their career. The younger students were able to better understand why STEM might be important to them and experienced flying and operating aircraft on the show floor in virtual reality.

For 2019, we are continuing our goal of educating students in the vast opportunities the industry has to offer and teaching cadets how to take steps to fulfill their aspirations in the aviation sector. SECA will host industry experts to speak with the students and will provide a dedicated Q&A session. In addition, students will experience time in the WATS exhibition hall for a hands-on trial of the latest in simulation, VR and technology with the ability to speak to regulators, flight crew, simulation manufacturers and training professionals.

Registration is now open to middle school, high school and college students and only costs $10 for the day. Faculty leads interested in attending SECA with their students can email SECA2019@halldale.com or call Michelle Stewart on 407  322 5605 for more information.

There are also sponsorship opportunities available, along with discounted booth space in the WATS exhibition hall for first-time educational or flight-based companies. We look forward to hosting SECA at WATS 2019! We will see you there!
