Resource Group started the year with an inspection of itsEASA Part-147 technical training business by the U.K.’s Office for Standards inEducation (OFSTED) with a successful outcome. A key quote form the reportstated:
“Directors have a very clear and long-term strategy toprovide high-quality engineering apprenticeships to the aviation sector. Theywork very closely with a small number of blue-chip aviation companies toprovide skilled and knowledgeable engineering apprentices, which employersvalue very highly, even at an early stage in their apprenticeships.”
In 2018 Resource Group trained 90 more maintenance apprentices for companies including British Airways, EasyJet, DHL, Thomas Cook Airlines and Virgin Atlantic Airlines. This year this number will rise to more than 130, and in doing so the company will have trained more than 700 maintenance apprentices by the end of 2019, helping address critical skills shortages in the MRO sector. The importance of the role Resource Group plays in supporting the aerospace sector was highlighted by a visit from parliamentarian Sir Geoffrey Clifton-Brown MP FRICS to its training facility in Gloucestershire in February.
According to the Resource Group’s Managing Director forTraining Services, Ian Fitzpatrick said, We are actively looking at options togrow our capacity this year to address demand that we are seeing for this typeof training.”
