L3 Commercial Aviation’s Airline Academy has joined forces with SkyWest Airlines to enhance its L3 Pilot Pathways Women Aviators Scholarship.
SkyWest will offer an additional $25,000 of funding, increasing the scholarship offer up to $50,000 for one successful applicant.
“This additional funding pushes one of our scholarships up to $50,000, a truly life-changing amount of money for one well-deserving person. We hope it inspires more women to follow their dreams and take the first steps towards an exciting career as a pilot by applying for the program,” said Robert Luthy, director of L3's Florida Airline Academy.
One successful candidate will now receive financial support of up to $50,000, another candidate will receive up to $25,000, and eight further candidates will receive a scholarship of up to $12,500 towards the training costs of the Professional Pilot Program at L3’s Airline Academy in Sanford, Florida.
L3 Pilot Pathways is a broader commitment to improving the accessibility of training to aspiring pilots from all backgrounds. This scholarship is open to all female US citizens and permanent residents. The candidates are asked to submit a short essay on their motivations and career aspirations, as well as to provide supporting information with their application.
