CAE is expanding its training capability in Europe with anew flight training location based in Oslo, Norway.

“This expansion of our global training network will support the impressive pilot demand of airlines and operators based in the region – we estimate that there will be a need for more than 90,000 new professional pilots in Europe, Middle East and Africa over the next decade,’’ said Nick Leontidis, CAE's group president, Civil Aviation Training Solutions.

With this expansion, CAE will now be delivering pilotcreation programs at CAE Oslo, adding to its existing cadet training capabilityin Brussels, Belgium; Madrid, Spain; and Oxford, U.K. This additional pilottraining location will further allow CAE to meet the pilot creation needs ofairlines and will offer aspiring pilots in the region a new Airline TransportPilot License (ATPL) program.

Aspiring pilots enrolled at CAE Oslo, will have theopportunity to finance their training through the Norwegian State EducationalLoan Fund, provided by Lånekassen, a government-owned financial institutionfocused exclusively on providing student loans.

CAE Oslo will now offer complete cadet-to-captain trainingas it already serves the growing pilot training needs of multiple Scandinavianairlines with its modern classrooms, six full-flight simulators including twoBoeing 737NGs, a King Air B200 and a B250, a De Havilland Canada Dash 8, and aSikorsky S92, as well as one Boeing 737NG flight training device and cabintrainer.
