CAE are to expand its teaching facilities in Asia by opening new training centres in Bangkok, Thailand and Gurugram, India.
"These new training centres will provide local training solutions to meet the growing needs of our customers in Asia,” said Nick Leontidis, CAE’s Group President, Civil Aviation Training Solutions.
"Asia is set to have the strongest demand for pilots over the next two decades and CAE will be there to support growth in the region with the most comprehensive training solutions."
CAE made the announcement at the Asia Pacific Airline Training Summit (APATS) in Singapore.
The CAE Bangkok centre, located close to Don Mueang International Airport, will be able to host six full-flight simulators. It will start with two new CAE 7000XR Series Airbus A320 FFS, equipped with the CAE Tropos 6000XR visual system.
When open in 2020, the facility will provide a local solution to Thai AirAsia and third party regional airline operators. Thai AirAsia teams have been training at CAE Kuala Lumpur for more than 10 years.
CAE Simulation Training Private Limited (CSTPL) training centre is a joint venture between InterGlobe Enterprises and CAE.
The Indian centre will have two new CAE 7000XR Series Airbus A320 FFSs also equipped with the CAE Tropos 6000XR visual system. CAE’s current joint venture training centre is located in Greater Noida, near New Delhi.
CAE have more than 250 FFS at 50 training locations around the world. Each year they train more than 120,000 pilots.
