BAA Training's new aviation training centre in Vietnam has received Approved Training Organization (ATO) certification from the country's Civil Aviation Administration and is open for business.
The facility has an Airbus A320 full flight simulator, with a second FFS arriving by the end of 2019. A Flame V9000 Commander Fire Fighting Trainer and the Door and Slide Trainer for cabin crew training are also planned.
"We are ready to provide market with high quality aviation training preparing pilots to handle ready for unforeseen and unexpected situations," said Egle Vaitkeviciute, CEO at BAA Training.
The 3000-square-meter facility is located 18km from the airport training centre and can house four full flight simulators.
BAA estimates up to 400 pilots will undergo type rating training annually at the Vietnam facility. Some 1,000 pilots will undergo recurrent training and 2,000 cabin crew will be trained each year at the venue.
The move is part of expansion plans by BAA Training in Asia. The company has also signed an agreement to establish BAA Training China. BAA Training are also looking at expanding its European facilities in Italy.
