ST Engineering has secured a 15-year engine maintenance-By-the-Hour (MBHTM) contract from Japan Transocean Air.

The Singaporean company will provide an integrated suite of engine MRO solutions. These include off-wing maintenance support, on-wing services and technical support to the airline’s Boeing 737NG fleet. These services will be provided from 2020 at the Group’s engine MRO facilities in Singapore.

Japan Transocean Air is a subsidiary of the Japan Airlines Group, a longstanding ST Engineering partner in MRO solutions.

Mr Noriyuki Aoki, President of Japan Transocean Air, said: “It provides us leverage through maintenance cost optimisation and cost control benefits, while enhancing the long-term partnership between Japan Airlines Group and ST Engineering."

Lim Serh Ghee, President of ST Engineering’s  Aerospace sector, said the deal reinforced the partnerships between the two companies.

"We are happy for such continuous opportunities which allow us to support Japan Transocean Air with a broad spectrum of MRO support," he said.
