An Airbus A320neo full-flight simulator (FFS) built by AMST-Aviation B.V. in the Netherlands recently received the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) CS-FSTD(A)—Issue 2 Level D certification. The FFS uses ASTi's Telestra product to simulate the aircraft's communication system and generate all the A320's environmental and aural cue sounds.

The Telestra modeling environment features third-octave spectral analysis, automatic speaker equalization, and real-time sound manipulation.

The simulator integrates with ASTi’s Simulated Environmentfor Realistic ATC (SERA) product. Together, Telestra and SERA create animmersive air traffic control (ATC) environment. SERA fully correlates theradio environment with visuals that the flight deck crew can see out thecockpit window.

SERA is fully compliant with the latest industry requirements for Simulated ATC Environment (SATCE) solutions. These requirements include the "Manual of Criteria for the Qualification of Flight Simulation Training Devices" (ICAO Doc. 9625, Ed. 4) and the updated ARINC Specification 439A Guidance for Simulated Air Traffic Control Environments in Flight Simulation Training Devices.
