Kansas State University Polytechnic Campus has selected L3Harris Technologies to enhance its pilot and maintenance training programs.

L3Harris will provide a flight training device and two enhanced flat panel trainers for pilot training. It will also supply a virtual flight deck for classroom pilot and maintenance training.

The Bombardier CRJ700 type devices feature high-fidelity aircraft-specific flight deck that mirrors the fitting and functions of the actual aircraft. This help to introduce airline operations earlier to students.

"Our students will benefit from courses that include realistic training with technology that mirrors actual aircraft," said Neal Bloomquist, teaching assistant professor of aviation at K-State Polytechnic.

John Dahl, flight operations coordinator at K-State Polytechnic, was excited about the devices. "The technology provided by L3Harris will help ensure our students are ready to immediately make an impact in the airline industry."
