All Nippon Airways (ANA) are to introduce VR training for its mechanics. It will cover all aspects of aircraft operation and how to identify and predict future risks.

ANA's new VR system will use 3D simulations of work environments to create real-world scenarios based on common work-related accidents.  ANA already uses VR systems to train flight attendants.

"Safety has always been a top priority for ANA," said Tatsuhiko Mitsukura, Executive Vice President of ANA. "Incorporating the latest VR technology into our training procedures is the next step in creating a safer environment for employees."

The VR safety training system is part of ANA's commitment to providing safe, quality and comfortable air travel. The airline said it will continue to implement the latest technological advancements to improve the air travel experience.
