Gulf Aviation Academy (GAA) has received dual Type Certification from the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA). It was for its new A320 full-flight simulator (FFS) for the A320ceo and A320neo engine types. It also covers UPRT training capabilities.

The new FFS device will include training for the new engine types. It will allow GAA to serve the Middle Eastern carriers who have recently taken delivery of neo fleets.

"We are pleased to receive this double seal of approval on the dual aircraft types," said Captain Dhaffer Al Abbasi. "We are calling it a '2x2' - great win and honour."

GAA, located close to Bahrain International Airport, were eyeing bigger markets with the EASA approval.

"We can now offer a training product that is not only attractive to Bahrain and the GCC region but also to airlines based in Europe," said Osama Al Sayed, Senior Manager Strategic Planning.
