As part of a new “Taking You Home”campaign, Qatar Airways is adding 28 flights to Australia with approximately48,000 seats from Doha to Sydney, Melbourne, Perth and Brisbane.

On April 4, the Australiangovernment said more than 2 million foreignerson temporary visas, including students, skilled workers, andvisitors, should “go home” as soon as possible. Alan Tudge, acting immigration minister, said 203,000 touristsin Australia needed to “return to their home country as quickly aspossible.”

Qatar chief executiveAkbar Al Baker said, "We are thankful tothe Australian government,airports and staff for their support in helpingus to add additional flights to get people home, and in particular, to bringflights to Brisbane."

As of this week, Qatar willbe the only airline flying from London to Australia. Between March 1-22, QatarAirways flew 13,458 Australians back home.
