Malaysia-based low-cost carrier AirAsia is taking bookings to resume some domestic flight operations on 29 April with flights to Thailand, the Philippines, India and Indonesia to follow in early May. The airline advised that governments still need to give their approval.

Initial flights are intended to serve people who need to get home or to work. Leisure travel is discouraged.

Despitehaving to park 96% of its fleet, AirAsia has pledged that it will not cut jobsdue to the current state of the aviation industry.
