Skytrans Airlines, headquartered in Cairns, Queensland, Australia, has awarded Avsoft International a contract for online pilot training.

Skytrans is using Avsoft’s Dash 8-100 aircraft systems course for ground school theory pilot training to satisfy its requirements before undertaking flight simulator sessions and completing type rating qualification.

Their pilots are using Avsoft’s Portable Classroom app, which allows the training to be delivered online or offline, to access the Dash 8-100 aircraft systems course on iPad tablets.

John O'Brien, Head of Training & Checking, said "Skytrans finds the Portable Classroom app’s offline mode useful where there is no internet availability."

Avsoft’s proprietary Learning Management System (AvLMS) is being used to deliver the required training and to provide comprehensive reporting facilities to administer all aspects of pilot training and course structure.
