After the adjustment of airBaltic’s flight network, it has started an internal process of rehiring 20 former cabin crew.

Since spring 2020, the company has rehired a total of 73 employees, including 18 cabin crew who were re-hired in different positions. The 20 cabin crew will resume their work in two groups starting from June. They will be selected evaluating their motivation, qualification and previous experience.

Martin Gauss, Chief Executive Officer of airBaltic said: “More than a year ago we were forced to make tough decisions, including letting many of our people go. We provided them with various benefits, including a social package. Today we are proud that we are in a position to rehire. We are confident about our future and know that soon we will return to our growth path, which will mean hundreds of new highly skilled job opportunities.”

“All new employees, whose work duties are related to permanent contact with other people, are required to be vaccinated and maintain it active during the pandemic. We have a 5-star Covid-19 safety rating, and already by the end of May more than 70% of airBaltic staff will have received their first Covid-19 vaccine,” Gauss added.
