Resilient Pilot launched the first of their next steps to resilience initiatives including free membership to the Resilient Crew Room, which provides access to free mentoring, coaching and virtual events, as well as two new, resources created by the volunteer team of pilot, cabin crew and specialist mentors – by crew, for crew.  They form part of a ‘360-degree self-development journey’ and are designed to help experienced, newly qualified and future crew learn, develop, practice or expand competencies.

Resilient Pilot’s core activity is the provision of mentoring and coaching for pilots and cabin crew around the world, regardless of their experience levels. Between them, the team of over 70 volunteer pilot, cabin crew and specialist mentors and coaches; and ‘Kickstart’ employees provide 1:1 support for an average of 200 crew on a variety of topics such as preparing for a return to line operations; job application guidance; studying techniques; stress management; development and promotion of transferable skills; and maintaining confidence in competencies. The next evolvement of this support sees Resilient Pilot moving to a free or monthly subscription membership structure with the launch of the ‘Resilient Crew Room’.

The Resilient Pilot ‘Resource Hub’ will facilitate interactive, web-based access to a range of useful tools. Created by crew, for crew, the Resource Hub will provide a selection of resources to help aviation professionals of all experience levels to refresh and expand their understanding and confidence in core competencies. The Resource Hub allows members to approach their self-development from 360-degrees using its Learn, Develop, Practice and Expand framework.

Mentor-curated resources include theory-based topics, presentations, and CRM-based reviews of previous aviation events. The Resource Hub also provides links to relevant external publications. Resilient Pilot’s Resource Hub focuses on the competencies and observable behaviours laid out by IATA, helping industry personnel to gain familiarity of what they might experience throughout their career.

Also part of the 360-degree self-development journey, these 1:1 mentor-led, desktop loft-type workshops are designed to help consolidate competency knowledge in a practical environment.  The CDS provides an aviation-based scenario to help users evaluate their understanding and application of competencies in a non-training environment, without assessment or judgement. Members can then delve into the resource library to find useful materials to help Learn, Develop, Practice or Expand their competencies, based upon their personal self-evaluation.

Free to join, the Resilient Crew Room entitles members to access Resilient Pilot’s support, services and the growing range of resources. Everything that has been offered for free through Resilient Pilot and Resilient Crew to date – such as mentoring, virtual events and AvTalent support remains included within the free ‘Resilient Pilot’ or ‘Resilient Crew’ membership. Access to the new Resource Hub is also free.

Among other benefits for those who elect to upgrade to the ‘Resilient Pilot Plus’ membership will be discounts on features that have previously been chargeable – such as technical workshops.

Karen Bath, CEO said: “I’m so proud to be launching these new resources and our Resilient Crew Room. It is very important to us that we respond effectively to the feedback we get through our mentoring and coaching relationships, and it’s clear that these resources will fill a gap that many crew who do not currently have the support of an employing operator or their ATO, feel needs filling. We are doing what we can to help our colleagues – to coin a phrase – prepare for take-off. This is a positive step to kickstart Resilient Pilot’s second year, which we hope will be the year when we see the true power of aviation’s resilience and get everyone airborne.”
