Sunclass-Airlines-Virtual-Training-Academy

To reduce the need to travel to get the training, help crew stay current wherever they are, and achieve optimal crew performance, Sunclass Airlines has decided to implement virtual training at its seven bases in Scandinavia. They converted their Standard Operating Procedures to virtual trainers that are accessible for crew anytime and anywhere.

Virtual trainers allow the crew to access the virtual aircraft with standardised procedures using their own mobile device and don’t require any additional VR equipment.

After implementing virtual training, Sunclass did two surveys – one with the flight crew and the other with the instructors. Forty-six pilots and eight instructors participated in the survey.

Based on the survey, 84% of Sunclass pilots agree that the virtual trainer is a more effective tool compared to using the manual for training. 88% of instructors agree that the virtual trainer contributes to a better application of procedures.

Virtual trainers enable the flight crew to prepare efficiently from the comfort of their home, which reduces the need for extra simulator sessions.

Sunclass uses virtual training for cabin crew training, too. The main objective is to achieve better standards and support decision-making.

Since cabin crew training can do most of the training through virtual trainers, the number of training sessions in a mock-up is also reduced.
