Adacel is extending its subcontract with Leidos for the FAA’s Advanced Technologies & Oceanic Procedures (ATOP) Program. This follows on the heels of the FAA extending its contract with Leidos to support the ATOP Program for another 12 years.

For over 20 years, through its continued collaboration with Leidos, Adacel has been supporting the oceanic automation software of the ATOP system, which has provided increased’ operational efficiency within the U.S.-controlled oceanic airspaces of the Atlantic and Pacific as well as the systems’ continued modernization. The ATOP contract was initially awarded in 2001 and the system went operational in 2005. The subcontract, comprising one base year and eleven option years, was extended on substantially the same terms and has, on average accounted for approximately 45%-65% of the company’s services revenues over the previous contract term.

Some of the ATOP system features include: fully integrated flight and radar data processing, conflict detection between aircraft, satellite data link communication and surveillance capabilities.
