Epic Flight Academy released the winners of the 6th Annual Aviation Scholarship Awards during its annual scholarship event in November. The event included a career fair featuring sponsors Cessna/Textron Aviation, Air Wisconsin, United Airlines, Piper Aircraft, SkyWest, Southern Airways Express, Piedmont Airlines, Republic Airways, FEAM Maintenance & Engineering, and New Smyrna Beach Outfitters.

Epic awarded four scholarships to high school students totaling $65,000 and another $4,000 to current Epic students. New Smyrna Beach Mayor Russ Owen was on hand to present the awards.

Scholarship Winners include Abdul Maflahi, Homewood, Alabama, who received the $20,000 pilot training scholarship; Luke Hamilton, Tampa, Florida, who received the $5,000 pilot training scholarship; Tyler Vischer, Port Orange, Florida, who received a $20,000 aircraft mechanic scholarship; and Julia Juedes, Winneconne, Wisconsin, who received a $20,000 aircraft mechanic scholarship.

Epic also awarded $1,000 each to four current Epic Flight Academy students: Kyne Fenton – Private Pilot Training; Joseph McGrath – Instrument Training; Dominick Bubeck – Commercial Pilot Training; and Michael Brooks – CFI Training.
