Airbus-Training-Centre-in-Chile

Airbus, in the company of SKY, officially celebrated the inauguration of its newest training centre located in Santiago, Chile, becoming the fourth training centre in Latin America. The Airbus Chile Training Centre (ACTC) is located within the facilities of Airbus Chile, in the Tobalaba Airfield in Santiago.

The 1,700-square-meter facility offers training to Airbus operators in Chile and houses a full suite of A320 pilot training equipment and has the capacity for 1,800 trainees a year. SKY, an all-Airbus low cost carrier based in Chile and Peru, selected Airbus in 2019 as its flight training provider.

The centre was inaugurated with the presence of the Chilean Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications, Gloria Hutt, SKY’s Executive President, Holger Paulmann and Arturo Barreira, President of Airbus Latin America and the Caribbean.

As air traffic in Latin America is progressively ramping up, Airbus predicts that this will call for more than 5,500 pilots to be trained over the next few years in the region, so the new training center will support the actual and the future growth of Airbus customers.

The ACTC is part of the Airbus global flight training network, which has 20 training locations around the world.
