Brunner has been awarded a contract to provide its NovaSim Virtual Reality (VR) Full Motion Simulator to its next US customer: PJ Helicopters in Red Bluff, California. To increase the efficiency of pilot training while enhancing safety, PJ Helicopters sought a solution at HAI Heli Expo 2020 in Anaheim. The NovaSim trainer is expected to be in service in the first quarter of 2022.
The device will be configured as a Bell 407 helicopter and will be used for training in normal and emergency procedures, as well as external load operations. Efficient individual pilot training as well as systematic aircraft- specific repetitive training of flight procedures can be performed on this simulator.
“We view this as a first step in building additional assets into our pilot training program where the ultimate need is pilot proficiency and currency across a spectrum of applications,” said Justin Chaffin, Vice President and Chief Pilot.
NovaSim VR offers 360-degree full virtual external view, which lets the pilot immerse completely in the simulated environment. The device integraties Varjo’s high-performance “human eye resolution” HMDs with NovaSim’s motion Algorithms.
