After more than 60 years in business, Enstrom Helicopter Corporation, located in Menominee, Michigan, is filing for Chapter 7 bankruptcy due to severe financial difficulties. The company officially closed on 21 January.

Enstrom’s Director of Sales, Dennis Martin, confirmed “all existing contracts and agreements [with the company] will become null and void.” All 30 of its employees, including upper management, will lose their jobs.

Enstrom Helicopter delivered more than 1,300 helicopters to customers in more than 50 countries. The Peruvian Air Force received the last helicopters from Enstrom in December, a a pair of 280FX aircraft.

Officials state that several groups show interest in buying the company’s assets and re-opening post-bankruptcy.
