  • Delta Air Lines made Number 1 in the industry for Network System Completion Factor and on-time arrival
  • The airline also held a streak of 300 days without a maintenance-related cancellation

Aviation Analytics company Cirium has presented Delta Air Lines with the 2021 Platinum Award for Operational Excellence at the new Engine Shop at the Technical Operations Center in Atlanta, Georgia.

“Last year Delta Air Lines led the industry in operational service metrics in a year that posed major obstacles to the aviation industry,” said Cirium CEO Jeremy Bowen to Delta. “The Platinum Award reflects Delta’s operational success navigating the immense complexity of its operations and the vast geographic diversity of its flight network and flight schedule.”

During the pandemic, Delta TechOps led Delta to Number 1 in the industry for Network System Completion Factor and on-time arrival in 2021. The airline also accomplished 27 perfect days, meeting all customer-focused objectives and without experiencing any Operational Difficulty Index events or injuries. Delta also went over 300 days without a maintenance-related cancellation.

Delta also upheld the top spot in other categories in 2021, including Number 1 in the J.D. Power 2021 North America Airline Satisfactory Study and Number 1 in the annual Business Travel News Airline Survey, for which it has held for 11 years in a row.

Delta TechOps is exhibiting this year’s World Aviation Training Summit (WATS) at booth #107. The world’s largest aviation training event is designed by and for aviation professionals and is taking place 3-5 May 2022. For more information, click here.
