Skyborne Airline Academy is unveiled its newly refurbished training center in Vero Beach, Florida, with a grand opening ceremony. The facility was officially opened by Rick Monday, former Major League Baseball player and local resident of more than 20 years.
Skyborne began renovations shortly after acquiring the Vero Beach facility in May 2021, giving the training center a complete overhaul while navigating pandemic delays. Some of the key modifications to the building include upgraded WiFi to download materials up to five times faster and Smart Boards in each training classroom for a seamless digital learning experience. Another new feature includes a trainee lounge with a canteen and coffee bar where cadets can relax or study between training sessions.
To minimize excess waste, the pilot shop where cadets can buy training equipment will be completely online, training materials will be almost exclusively digital and reusable coffee mugs and water bottles will be made available to all staff and cadets.
The grand opening began with a speech from Ed Davidson, Managing Director, Skyborne Vero Beach, followed by a ribbon cutting by Rick Monday. Following the ceremony, VIP guests including Skyborne’s airline partners from Delta, United Airlines, SkyWest, Endeavor Air and Envoy Air along with the general public were invited to tour the building and speak with Skyborne leadership, instructors and cadets.
Skyborne Airline Academy formally opened its first US pilot training base in Vero Beach on May 1, 2021.
