Dubai Aviation Engineering Projects (DAEP) has selected UK-based Micro Nav Limited’s ATC tower simulator suite, BEST, to support its plans for air traffic growth at both Dubai and Al Maktoum International Airports.
Dubai Air Navigation Services (dans), the provider of air navigation services and air traffic control for Dubai and the Northern Emirates, will be deploying the BEST ATC simulator to enable the planned technological advancements, while defining the concept of operations, and increasing its training capacity to support the continuous growth.
The new simulator suite extends the existing Micro Nav tower simulation platform with two additional 360-degree tower simulators, 10 single-person tower simulators, plus integration with existing simulation assets and new ATM systems procured to support dans’ growth strategy.
“The selection of Micro Nav’s BEST simulator is in line with our strategy to embrace the latest technology to enable Dubai to efficiently deal with the increasing air traffic as the city is witnessing the fastest recovery in the aviation industry. The new simulator suite will ensure efficient and safe handling of this increased traffic,” said Ibrahim Ahli, Deputy CEO of dans.
“dans has the vision to manage this demand through an increase in simulator capacity, but also providing the Air Traffic Controllers with the tools to undertake their job as efficiently as possible whilst maintaining safety standards,” he added.
