L3 Harris Head of Training (Airline Training) Peter Hogston has a clear message for ATO's, operators and pilots: The next generation of technology is imminently upon us, we are entering the era of data.

We are delighted that Peter will be a guest speaker at EATS 2022, where he will explain how data will be the enabler to shift us towards a situation where capability signatures determine the device that will provide the best value for timed based on an individual pilot's key competencies.

Peter will argue that data will drive these decisions and also benchmark pilots against their peers and industry, which ultimately requires data sources from outside of the training environment.

The shift towards data-led training decisions will result in newer training technologies that can focus on improving certain key competencies such as VR/AR. This will benefit operators, who will be able to better manage risk through training that is based on pilots individual requirements. And pilots will benefit from training that is based on behaviours, aiding their ability to deal with a wider range of situations.

The challenge for ATOs, technology manufacturers and OEMS, Peter says, will be to work together to ensure the large amount of change required across regulatory authorities and bodies is harmonised to reduce impact.

Peter's presentation, titled Training The Next Generation, will take place on Wednesday 9th November. The full schedule of EATS 2022 speakers is available here.

Supported by the training industry and subject matter experts, the EATS 2022 conference will provide practical solutions for those day to day challenges and offers key insights into the future of the industry.

Presentations and moderated discussions led by industry and airline experts will allow the airline training community to share best practice, lessons learned and the challenges of recovery and return to growth.
