Sevenair Academy, the largest and oldest aviation academy in Portugal, has acquired L3Harris pilot training assets in Portugal after an international closed tender.

“We learned in May that L3Harris was moving out of Portugal, closing its activity, and with Portugal being our main base of operations we had to try to make this consolidation," Sevenair academy said in a statement, adding they believed there were eight bidders.

With this acquisition, Sevenair Academy said it had become the largest pilot training school in Europe. They have three training locations in Portugal, over 30.000m2 of dedicated facilities, more than 50 aircraft, of which 40 are equipped with glass cockpit and are less than four-years-old. They also boast six simulators and a 134-room campus to accommodate students.

This will allow Sevenair Academy, which has been training pilots for over 40 years, to train 400 students, mostly international, per year in the B2C market and some B2B customers, such as leading European and Middle East Airlines who need a large pipeline of highly trained pilots.
