AXIS Flight Training Systems GmbH has developed an AXIS Virtual Cockpit or AVC for flat panel training devices.

AVC is a framework that allows developers to create and integrate virtual cockpit panels into a simulation without needing to run the real hardware counterpart. Aviation testing can begin immediately, before actual panel production has even started.

This saves enormous amounts of time by freeing development from dependence on real simulator hardware. In addition, it enables parallel development and testing on virtual panels, further accelerating the development process.

AXIS Director Software Engineering and IT Gerhard Brunner said, “We’re always looking for ways to make flight simulation more efficient. This new Virtual Cockpit is an extremely valuable tool that drastically shortens the development curve, so we can address new aircraft models and fill customer orders faster.”
