Pilot Network, a global platform for future and current pilots to find out about their flight training needs and requirements, and Symbiotics, the provider of ADAPT Pilot Psychological Assessments, have partnered to provide a range of Pilot Aptitude Assessments to both qualified pilots looking for a new position and future pilots looking to start their career within aviation.

Pilot Aptitude Tests are a common part in the journey into becoming a pilot. Used by airlines and flight schools to predict a candidate’s likelihood of success in the flight training process, airlines are increasingly using these to ensure compliance with the psychological element of the EASA Aircrew Medical Fitness Regulation. Fully qualified pilots who are looking for new jobs are also likely to encounter Pilot Aptitude Tests as part of the recruitment process.

The new partnership will see Pilot Network offering Symbiotics’ Pilot Aptitude Practice Tests on their website, to help members better prepare for their assessments. Members will be able to benefit from advice and guidance material on how to best prepare for Pilot Aptitude Tests and interviews ahead of applying to a flight school for pilot training. Having experience by using these practice tests can support candidates in familiarising themselves with the testing process they may encounter, as well as identify any areas that may require development prior to taking their assessment with an airline or ATO.

Pilot Network Co-Founder William Mallard said: “We recognise the importance of aptitude testing in identifying and challenging the key skills, attributes and competencies required of flight school students and airline pilots. We look forward to working closely with Symbiotics moving forward as Pilot Network continues to grow the range of guidance and advice we have available on our platform.”

Symbiotics’ Technical Director, Richard Brecknell added “Practice tests allow candidates to determine their strengths and weaknesses as well as reducing anxiety about the assessment process, and these will complement Pilot Network's existing excellent guidance and resources."
