Fectar, a content management system for virtual and augmented reality (VR/AR) in education and enterprise training, have integrated an Ultraleap hand tracking feature within their platform. Content creators will now be able to build VR training experiences with intuitive hand tracking from the beginning.

The new feature means that Fectar’s customers can now create and share interactive environments with integrated Ultraleap hand tracking, rather than relying on VR controllers.

Fectar develops and maintains a content creation and publishing platform that is aimed at non-technical users. Users build their scene in the platform and can then publish it across multiple compatible devices, including mobile, VR, web or AR glasses. In this case, the hand tracking feature is compatible with any XR device featuring Ultraleap hand tracking – including the Pico Neo 3 Pro with added hand tracking accessory. The Fectar App, which is where people can find and share VR/AR experiences, has been downloaded over 6 million times.

High quality hand tracking interaction is important to VR training applications as it’s an intuitive tool people instinctively know how to use.  It positively affects training outcomes, reduces the effort of adoption, and makes applications more accessible. It also allows users to develop real muscle memory for long-term recall by enabling them to do something almost exactly as they would in the real world.

Matt Tullis, VP of XR at Ultraleap, said: “We already know that enterprise VR programmes improve productivity by 32%. By making that experience even more natural with hand tracking, Fectar customers can expect to see their VR training ROI increase even further.”
