California Aeronautical University (CAU) has entered into a partnership with United Airlines, where CAU graduates will be given a direct path to the United Airlines through its Aviate program.

Current and former CAU students and instructors can now apply to United’s Aviate program, where upon acceptance, they will receive a conditional job officer as a First Officer for the airline, along with coaching opportunities from current pilots at United. The airline intends to hire more than 10,000 pilots this decade.

While CAU holds partnerships with several regional airlines, United will become its second major airline partner.

CAU and United will officially launch the partnership at the university’s Bakersfield campus on 11 October 2023. Representatives of United will share details of the program to students and also allow for networking opportunities.
