Skyborne and IndiGo are preparing to tour the country in a series of seminars across Hyderabad, Chennai, Mumbai and Gurugram. Prospective cadets will have the opportunity to find out more about the IndiGo Cadet Pilot Programme with Skyborne at a time when India’s demand for commercial pilots is skyrocketing.
Lee Woodward, Chief Executive Officer, Skyborne, says: “India is one of the world’s fastest growing aviation markets and is facing an unprecedented need for pilots. The demand for travel in India is back and combined with IndiGo’s recent aircraft orders, the opportunity for future IndiGo pilots has never been better.”
Skyborne was selected in 2019 to train the next generation of IndiGo A320 First Officers. The 17-month course begins at Skyborne’s U.S. facility in Vero Beach, Florida, where cadets spend 12 months earning their U.S. FAA 141 Commercial Pilots Licence with Instrument Rating, plus the required Multi-Engine time, before completing a DCGA licence conversion in India. Those who are yet to complete their DGCA CPL theory exams have the additional option to undertake Skyborne’s SKYWORX India DGCA Distance Learning Programme before they commence flight training.
The final phase of the programme is the completion of a Multi-Crew Cooperation Course (MCC) and Airbus A320 type rating. Having been selected by IndiGo from the start, successful applicants will receive support and a Letter of Intent to employ (LOI) from the airline.
Woodward adds: “At our seminars across India, the Skyborne and IndiGo leadership teams will be on hand to answer questions about our facilities, instructional staff and our unique approach to training. This is an opportunity not to be missed if you are considering a career with IndiGo as an airline pilot.”
To find out more about the programme and a pilot career at IndiGo, prospective applicants are invited to register for Skyborne’s four upcoming seminars and visit Skyborne’s website.
