Sevenair Academy, a pilot training academy located in Portugal, has appointed Capt. Mário Barreto as the new Safety Manager.

Capt. Mário Barreto brings a wealth of experience and expertise to his new role – being a retired Major-General Reserve Portuguese Air Force Pilot Aviator, Capt. Barreto has a background flying a wide array of aircraft, including the DHC-1 Chipmunk, T-41 Cessna C- 172, Cessna T-37A, Northrop T-38A Talon, Vought A-7P Corsair II, and Lockheed Martin F- 16A/B Fighting Falcon.

Sevenair Academy believes his extensive international experience, including missions in the Balkans and Afghanistan, coupled with training in the United States Air Force, has equipped him with invaluable insights into aviation safety and operations.

Carlos Amaro, Accountable Manager of Sevenair Academy, remarked, "His extensive experience and unwavering commitment to safety will undoubtedly enhance our mission of maintaining the highest safety standards in training at Sevenair Academy."

Capt. Barreto's safety department will also count on the support of Viren Gharegrat, as he transitions to the role of Safety Officer after successfully leading the department during the interim period.
