The U.S. Department’s Economic Development Administration (EDA) is awarding a $4.1 million grant to the city of Danville, Virginia for construction of a new aviation training facility.

This grant will facilitate construction of a new, 12,532-square-foot training facility at Danville Regional Airport to support aviation maintenance and flight instruction training activities. This EDA investment will be matched with $2.7 million in local funds.

“Investing in our airport infrastructure and workforce is good for the economy and helps Virginians safely get where they need to go,” said Senator Tim Kaine. “I’m glad Danville is receiving $4.1 million in federal funding to build a new aviation training facility that will create jobs and support Virginia’s aviation workforce.”
