Just a few months after commencing operations in Changsha, the Capital city of the Hunan Province in China, Simaero’s first A320 ceo/neo full-flight simulator at the Changsha Training Center has been certified by the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA).
This certification, achieved through the strong collaboration between Simaero and China Simulation Sciences Co., Ltd. (CSS), the simulator manufacturer, marks a significant milestone for local aviation training. It is the first device produced by a Chinese training device manufacturer to receive the EASA certification, according to Simaero.
After successfully obtaining certification from the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) in January 2024, Simaero’s Airbus A320 ceo/neo full-flight simulator is now certified by EASA. This simulator, housed in Simaero’s brand new training center in Changsha, is the first in the Hunan Province to receive both CAAC and EASA certifications. This dual certification places the simulator among a select group of devices in China that meet the rigorous standards of these two authorities.
Additionally, this achievement marks the first time a training device manufactured by a Chinese manufacturer, China Simulation Sciences Co., Ltd. (CSS), part of the Juneayo Group, has been certified by EASA.
Simaero successfully brought its organizational system and 22 years of experience in simulator operations and maintenance to the Changsha training center and closely collaborated with CSS for several months to ensure that the simulator's features and documentation met the standards set by EASA.
The newly EASA Level D certified Airbus A320 ceo/neo full-flight simulator is equipped with the latest technology and additional capabilities. Simaero aims to maintain a reliability ratio of at least 99% for the simulator, ensuring a seamless experience. The FFS is the first training device of Changsha's six-bay training center and the first device financed through the latest asset leasing joint venture between Simaero and its longstanding Chinese partner, HNCA.
With EASA certification now in place and plans to integrate the simulator into its EASA ATO certificate, Simaero will be able to offer a range of training solutions to carriers from Southeast Asia and beyond.
