Pan Am Flight Academy has added an Airbus A330 Full Flight Simulator at its Miami Training Center, marking a significant enhancement in its ability to meet the growing demand for comprehensive pilot training on the Airbus wide-body aircraft.

The Level D simulator is now fully operational at Pan Am’s Axis Park complex in Hialeah, Florida. Equipped with Airbus Standard 2.4 specifications, this advanced training device features engine options including Rolls Royce Trent, General Electric CF6-80, and Pratt & Whitney PW4000.

Incorporating CAE Tropos visuals and Moog Electric Motion technology, the simulator offers an immersive and lifelike training experience. It also includes both Thales and Honeywell FMGEC systems, TCAS 7.1, EGPWS, and Upset Prevention and Recovery Training (UPRT Dir 2).

“At Pan Am Flight Academy, we are continuously investing in technology to address the evolving needs of the aviation community,” said Jeff Portanova, President of Pan Am Flight Academy. “This expansion allows us to better serve our global customer base, offering the flexibility and advanced tools that today’s aviation professionals demand.”

This new A330 Level D simulator joins Pan Am’s existing A320 simulator, bringing the total number of simulators at the Miami Axis Park facility to 10, and 23 across all Pan Am locations globally.

Training sessions on the new A330 simulator are set to begin in November, 2024.
