Saskatchewan Polytechnic has acquired an ALX flight simulator from ALSIM to further enhance its flight training program. The new simulator will be located at the institution’s campus in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada. Saskatchewan Polytechnic has already been operating AL250 and AL200 simulators.
The ALSIM ALX provides up to 4 classes of aircraft from single-engine piston, twin engine piston, twin turbine up to medium category twin jet. The device is designed and approved for ATPL, CPL, and MCC in compliance with all current regulatory standards. The ALX offers advanced technology simulation equipment tailored to all specific training requirements.
“We are grateful for PrairiesCan’s investment in our Commercial Pilot program, enabling us to purchase the ALSIM ALX flight simulator,” says Dr.Larry Rosia, Saskatchewan Polytechnic president and CEO. “This investment is instrumental in providing our students with cutting-edge and innovative equipment, enabling them to gain the skills and experience necessary for successful careers in aviation. Thank you for supporting current students, future students and the advancement of education.”
“Modern simulators, like the ALSIM ALX, offer highly realistic environments with advanced technology that replicates the look and feel of an actual cockpit,” says Reed Willison, Saskatchewan Polytechnic Commercial Pilot program head and instructor. “With this new flight simulator students can experience various weather conditions, turbulence and other flight challenges in a controlled setting. This ALSIM ALX is particularly useful learning complex tasks that require a steep learning curve, like engine failure on takeoff, flying under high wind conditions and working as a team in an emergency.”
