CAE has announced plans to expand its stake in SIMCOM Aviation Training by purchasing a majority of SIMCOM shares from Volo Sicuro for USD $230 million. This move aligns with CAE's focus on reinforcing its footprint in business aviation training. Following the transaction, Flexjet, LLC—a related party of Volo Sicuro—will retain a minority stake in SIMCOM, with the acquisition expected to close shortly.

This transaction extends CAE and SIMCOM's exclusive agreements with Flexjet and its affiliates for an additional five years, solidifying a total exclusivity period of 15 years. The expanded partnerships ensure that Flexjet’s pilots will continue to receive advanced training to support safety and operational standards in the business aviation sector.

SIMCOM provides training on a wide range of business aviation platforms, supported by CAE’s advanced training technology, including the CAE 7000XR full-flight simulators and CAE 400XR flight training devices. With four U.S. training centers, including its facility in Lake Nona, Florida, SIMCOM provides pilot training across a range of business aviation platforms.

CAE is a Diamond Sponsor at EATS, taking place now through 7 November.
