Entrol Unveils Mixed Reality Hoist Training System

Entrol, a manufacturer of EASA and FAA certified FNPT, FTD, and FFS flight simulators, has launched the MR Hoist Operator Station, a new mixed reality solution designed to train hoist operators for complex, high-risk missions. The system introduces immersive training capabilities that replicate emergency and rescue scenarios, emphasizing clear and precise communication between pilots and hoist operators.

The MR Hoist Operator Station incorporates mixed reality goggles that immerse trainees in real-time, scenario-based environments such as search and rescue, firefighting, and offshore operations. The system simulates complex hoist maneuvers through winch cable control in four axes and allows operators to practice under conditions such as engine failure and cable spinning. The platform enhances phraseology and coordination during missions, reinforcing the teamwork essential to mission success.

Fully integrated with Entrol’s range of flight simulators, the new system provides a consistent and scalable training experience. The modular architecture allows it to be tailored for various aircraft types and mission profiles, making it a versatile solution across training centers.
