The Airline Pilot Club (APC) has announced that three major aviation training institutions—Barcelona Flight School (Spain), Schreiner University (US-Texas), and Global Flight Training Solutions (US-Florida)—have adopted Amelia, APC’s Artificial Intelligence (AI)-powered platform, to elevate pilot training programs. By leveraging Amelia, these institutions aim to optimize recruitment, create adaptive learning paths, and accelerate pilot readiness through advanced AI capabilities.

Amelia supports both Evidence-Based Training (EBT) and Competency-Based Training and Assessment (CBTA) frameworks, offering a comprehensive suite of tools to support each phase of a pilot’s journey, from recruitment through operational readiness. The platform’s recruitment automation uses behavioral and competency-based assessments to streamline candidate selection, which can help reduce recruitment costs by up to 30%.

To personalize the training experience, Amelia applies predictive analytics to create adaptive learning paths tailored to each pilot’s strengths and challenges. This targeted approach to training is designed to accelerate pilot readiness by up to 25%. Additionally, Amelia provides real-time performance feedback, enabling timely adjustments to training and minimizing the need for remedial instruction.

“We believe that Amelia will make a significant difference in how we train our pilots,” said Davis, MS, FRAeS, Director – Aviation Studies at Shreiner Universities.  “The platform’s ability to tailor learning paths to individual needs and provide real-time feedback is exactly what we need to ensure our students are not just proficient but highly capable, adaptable pilots.”

The platform’s scenario-based simulations and virtual coaching capabilities bring realistic training experiences that help optimize simulator use and reduce reliance on costly in-aircraft training by as much as 25%. When training gaps are identified, Amelia offers remedial support through personalized plans that address specific competency needs, further reducing additional training costs.

Amelia also provides resources for instructors and training departments, including tools for briefing, debriefing, and scenario management. The platform’s analytics help training departments refine their programs and align them with operational goals and industry standards.

APC invites European Airline Training Symposium (EATS) 2024 attendees to experience Amelia firsthand at booth #806. CEO Andy O'Shea will also present at sessions focused on AI-driven assessments and resilience in pilot training.
