Recently, Singapore Flying College (SFC) launched a global tender for the procurement of a Cessna 172S Flight Training Device (FTD), attracting numerous top-tier flight training device manufacturers from around the world. After several rounds of intense competition, U-Wing Simulation emerged as the winner, thanks to its technological advantages, product quality, and comprehensive service system. The company has successfully signed the procurement contract.
The flight training device meets the requirements of Singapore Aviation Safety Publication 11 (SASP 11) and International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Document 9625, and has obtained certification from the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS). It also complies with the standards of CCAR-60-R1 FTD Level 5, FAA FTD Level 5 and EASA FNPT II. Equipped with U-Wing Simulation's self-developed flight simulation system, the device features the new-generation G1000 NXi avionics simulation system and control load system, as well as a full-function instructor console, ViSYS visual system, and a 200×40-degree wraparound laser projection. These advanced configurations accurately reproduce all the flight and operational characteristics of the Cessna 172 aircraft, providing trainees with a highly realistic flight experience and enhanced immersion. Meanwhile, it offers instructors a more convenient and efficient training management experience, helping flight schools improve training efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance training quality and management levels.
"This collaboration will significantly enhance our training capabilities," said a spokesperson from Singapore Flying College.
Singapore Flying College (SFC) is a flight school approved by the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS), headquartered at the Singapore Airlines Training Centre. Established in 1988 as part of the Singapore Airlines Group, SFC has been committed to training pilots with the core values required for airline pilots. In 1990, SFC expanded to its base at Jandakot, Western Australia, due to the favorable climate and weather conditions for continuous flight training. Trainees complete their ATPL ground training in Singapore and conduct flight training at the Jandakot base. The accommodation facility at Jandakot was opened in 1992.
The flight training device has now successfully passed the factory acceptance test and is ready for shipment. It is expected to arrive at SFC's training base in Australia in the near future.
