As the aviation industry continues to recover and expand, 2024 has proven to be a standout year for Sevenair Academy, with unprecedented growth and strategic advancements across its training programs. This year, Sevenair Academy welcomed a record number of new students, further establishing its position as a top pilot training academy in Europe.

Growing Student Enrollment and Expanding Training Resources

Sevenair Academy’s 2024 cadet intake has grown considerably, with an increase of 156% compared to the previous year. Driven by a commitment to delivering high-quality, industry-relevant training, Sevenair Academy’s comprehensive programs have attracted students from around the globe, solidifying the academy’s reputation for excellence.

To support this influx of students, Sevenair Academy invested significantly in its training resources throughout the year. These investments focused on maximizing student preparedness and ensuring a seamless training experience. Enhancements included expanded capabilities, upgraded training equipment, and improved on-campus resources to better support students through each stage of their development. As part of these upgrades, Sevenair Academy doubled its bed capacity on campus, providing accommodation for even more cadets and enhancing their training experience by facilitating a supportive, residential learning environment.

Meeting Industry Demands Through Strategic Partnerships and Innovative Programs

Sevenair Academy’s reputation for producing skilled, adaptable pilots has also paved the way for meaningful partnerships this year. These alliances are built around a shared commitment to quality and industry relevance, allowing Sevenair Academy to provide opportunities that directly support student career paths. One of the standout collaborations in 2024 is a newly established partnership with Luxair. This collaboration includes a unique sponsorship program designed to help selected cadets overcome the financial barriers of pilot training, providing funding for up to 100% of their remaining training costs. After cadets pass their first exams sitting, and successfully complete Luxair’s assessment process, the program allows them to progress toward airline careers with a greatly reduced financial burden. This opportunity is both a testament to Luxair’s confidence in Sevenair’s graduates and an invaluable career pathway for cadets seeking entry into commercial aviation.

Additionally, Sevenair Academy partnered with the Icelandic Aviation Training (IAT) ATO, expanding its reach to offer flight training to Nordic cadets. This partnership highlights how Sevenair Academy’s extensive infrastructure and fair-weather conditions, given its advantageous location in sunny Portugal, provide an ideal solution for (IAT) to efficiently train their cadets, ensuring timely and high-quality flight training.

The demand for partnerships that support career readiness has grown as airlines look to fill pilot seats with highly trained, confident graduates. Sevenair Academy continues to seek alliances that benefit both students and the wider aviation community, demonstrating its commitment to providing career-launching opportunities for cadets.

Competency-Based Training and Assessment (CBTA) Implementation

In addition to partnerships, Sevenair Academy has been at the forefront of adopting new training methodologies to meet evolving industry needs. In 2024, the academy started the implementation of Competency-Based Training and Assessment (CBTA), which will be carry-on through 2025. This methodology focuses on developing cadet competencies through an immersive approach that emphasizes real-world skills, critical thinking, and decision-making under varied conditions. By honing these core skills from the outset, CBTA prepares students not just to pass exams but to excel in real-world airline operations.

CBTA implementation is part of Sevenair Academy’s commitment to reduce the gap between ab initio training and airline requirements. The program addresses core competencies such as problem-solving, communication, teamwork, and situational awareness—all key skills that are increasingly valued by airlines. With this structured yet flexible approach, Sevenair’s cadets are equipped to handle both routine and complex scenarios, ensuring a smoother transition from training to active airline roles.

A Solid Year and Future Growth

As Sevenair Academy looks to the future, 2024 stands out as a year that reinforced its mission to provide world-class aviation training and development. The academy’s consistent growth demonstrates its commitment to excellence, its responsiveness to industry needs, and its determination to offer students a gateway into successful careers. Sevenair Academy’s track record this year is backed by a legacy of investment in its students’ futures, reinforced by cutting-edge resources, high-standard training programs, and industry partnerships.

In an industry marked by constant change, Sevenair Academy remains steadfast in its approach to building skilled, confident pilots who are prepared to navigate a dynamic aviation landscape. The Academy’s dedication to preparing students for the demands of commercial aviation is reflected in every aspect of its training model, from infrastructure and equipment to curriculum and strategic partnerships.

As Sevenair Academy closes the year on this high note, it looks forward to welcoming even more aspiring pilots in 2025. Sevenair Academy remains fully committed to shaping aviation’s future by training the pilots who will steer it forward.
