Airbus has signed several cooperation agreements and Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with its partners at the Zhuhai Airshow, focusing on expanding aftermarket services. These agreements span flight training, non-destructive testing (NDT) training and assessment, cabin seat solutions, and material services.
As part of the agreements, Airbus will collaborate with the Civil Aviation Flight University of China (CAFUC) to develop a Competency-Based Training and Assessment (CBTA) program for Air Transport Pilot training. The initiative addresses updated training requirements from the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) and aligns with both ICAO and CAAC standards. The program, expected to be completed within two years, will undergo trials supervised by CAAC before wider implementation, enhancing training efficiency and pilot competencies.
Testia is expanding its worldwide presence with the Airbus’ joint venture with China Hua-Ou Training Co,.Ltd. It will provide NDT competences in China, to and through the Hua-Ou's training facility, contributing to elevate the industrial standards and support the growing demand for skilled professionals in this crucial field. Testia has been performing training and assessment in this field for over 30 years, supporting industrial players in aerospace manufacturing, assembly, maintenance, repair and overhaul worldwide. With this milestone, Hua-Ou will be the first training hub for Testia in the Greater China region outside the home base in Toulouse, France.
Additionally, Airbus subsidiary Eltra signed an agreement with Colorful Guizhou Airlines to provide a customized retrofit solution of cabin seat power supply for the airline’s A320 fleet, including engineering design solutions, retrofit solution implementation and technical support and training. The upgrades aim to enhance onboard comfort and functionality while meeting market demand.
Satair, an Airbus Services company, entered agreements with several Chinese airlines for Integrated Material Services (IMS) and spare parts purchasing programs. These initiatives aim to optimize spare parts availability and stock levels, supporting operational performance and cost efficiency for customers.
