At the Oshkosh EAA Air Venture 2024, True Course Simulations debuted their Mixed Reality (MR) Immersive Training Device (ITD), which combines real-world elements – the pilot’s body, aircraft instruments, and physical space – with a virtual environment. It achieves this by utilizing high- definition pass-through cameras which display both the pilot’s real-world actions and surroundings, overlain with computer- generated graphics. This combination creates a truly immersive experience without sacrificing real-world interaction.

The response from the aviation community was overwhelmingly enthusiastic, with lines of aviation enthusiasts, industry professionals, and pilots eager to witness the future of flight training firsthand.

“Our new Mixed-Reality Flight Simulator represents years of research and development, designed to provide an unmatched training experience,” said CEO, Brett Watts. We’re thrilled to see such enthusiastic responses and are excited about the potential impacts this technology will have on pilot training worldwide.”

The Mixed Reality Flight Simulator offers a hyper-realistic flight environment, incorporating interactive elements that allow users to practice flight maneuvers, navigation, and other critical skills in a realistic setting.
