New Part-66 Exam Site Opening to Address Engineer Shortage

To help tackle the global shortfall of engineers, Resource Group, a Part-147 basic training provider, is opening a new Part-66 examination centre at Schiphol Airport, Amsterdam.

The newly established examination centre, which is in an accessible location for current and future engineers across Europe, will provide students with the opportunity to obtain EASA certifications, enabling them to fulfil requirements for A1, A3, B1.1, B1.3, and B2 licences.

The initial examination dates will be available from December 2024 and are open to all engineers who have acquired Part-66 Self-Study modules through Resource Group.

Managing Director of Resource Group Training Solutions, Ian Fitzpatrick, said: “Building on the success of our many UK exam centres and our first EASA and UKCAA examination centre in Ireland, we are delighted to launch our examination centre in Amsterdam. It is Resource Group’s ambition to provide an affordable and flexible route for individual engineers and businesses who want to sponsor their staff to a Part 66 aircraft maintenance licence; the launch of our Amsterdam examination centre is another highly important step on that journey.

“We anticipate the new examination centre will create pathways for many engineers who might otherwise have few options available to them, helping to address the acute shortage of suitably qualified aircraft maintainers against an ever-increasing industry demand.”

Resource Group’s Part-66 Self-Study courses enable individuals to work towards a Part-66 licence in their own time; reducing the need to take long periods away from work at a time when the industry is in need of every skilled worker available. With input from industry experts and educational specialists to enhance learner experience, the courseware includes 3D graphics, interactive scenarios and engaging video content, specifically designed to maximise learners’ understanding of course concepts regardless of their preferred learning style.

The courseware includes end of module knowledge checks with detailed reports to help learners identify their strengths and weaknesses, as well as timed, mock assessments to simulate the Part-66 examination experience. The courseware is tried and tested and is guaranteed to cover the subject matter in Resource Group’s examinations.

The new hub in Amsterdam is the second location to open as part of Resource Group’s examination centre expansion programme, which is set to open further exam centres across Europe in 2025.
